The Places ∫ Qarth
The people of Qarth are called Qartheen. A great and immensely rich city which guards the Straits of Qarth (also called the Jade Gates), which connect the Summer Sea to the Jade Sea. Trade ships travel from Westeros to Asshai and back again via Qarth carrying varied cargoes. The city’s landward side is protected by a parched desert known as the Red Waste.
Qarth is most famous for its warlocks, known as the Undying of Qarth, who are feared and respected throughout the East. Like the Alchemists’ Guild of the Seven Kingdoms, however, the warlocks’ power and prestige have waned over the years. Most warlocks have blue lips. They drink shade-of-the-evening, which makes their lips turn blue. The center of the warlocks power comes from the House of the Undying.

Great Houses ∫ Starks
House Stark of Winterfell is the principal noble house of The North. The Starks were Kings of Winter in the North for many thousands of years before the Targareyn’s invaded. For several millennia, the Starks were not the uncontested Kings of the North, and their primary antagonists the Boltons of the Dreadfort did not bend the knee until some 1,000 years ago.
The last Stark King of the North was Torrhen, who submitted to Aegon the Conqueror at the end of the War of Conquest. Since that time the Starks have held the North for the kings of the Seven Kingdoms as Wardens of The North.

WHEN STORYBOARDS COME TO LIFE
In the 1960’s the project of Chanticleer was scratched to develop The Sword in the Stone, which was storyboarded by the talented Bill Peet. The Wizards’ Duel sequence between Merlin and Madame Mim is, without a doubt, one of the gems of the film and was the result of the combined talents of Bill and Milt Kahl. After Bill Peet doodled character situations and dialogue ideas on note paper sheets, it was Milt’s job to polish and finally bring to life, inspired by his doodles. The influence of Bill’s staging is outstanding, as is Milt’s animation.

Groups ∫ Bastards
Bastards are not allowed to inherit their fathers lands, wealth or their name. However, they may gain recognition through various acts and deeds. They can be knighted, or get a bill of legitimacy. Which allows them to take a new surname and a new house.
The Baratheon house was founded by the bastard half-brother of King Aegon the Conqueror. Each bastard is given the surname with respect to their region. This rule however, does not apply to smallfolks.

The Places ∫ Harrenhal
Harrenhal is a great castle constructed before the War of Conquest, located in the Riverlands, on the north shore of the Gods Eye lake. It is the largest castle in the Seven Kingdoms. Since the War of Conquest, however, it has become a dark and ruinous place.
The day the castle was completed, Aegon the Conqueror invaded Westeros. His dragons roasted Harren alive in the tallest tower of the castle (Kingspyre).
